Last Thursday, July 14, we made an excursion with my friend Sergio with the purpose to study and collect samples of the landsnails fauna in this area. As always, we were able to enjoy fantastic landscapes and observe the very interesting and beautiful wildlife. Here some photos:
Macrogastra ventricosa and Macrogastra attenuata lineolata of the family Clausiliidae. Also many Oxychilus and Helicodonta obvoluta. Most species live under moss and dead vegetation in the humid area.
Pedraforca mountain views.
Live specimens of Helicodonta obvoluta, both young.
Live specimen of Pyrenaearia parva, rare and endemic species from Pedraforca mountain and sorroundings. It’s not very visible as a result of the habitat; inside large cracks in the rocks.
Three specimens of Ciliella ciliata from the family Hygromiidae, uncommon in Catalonia. We found it under small rocks near a small drop of water.
Macrogastra attenuata lineolata (Clausiliidae).
